I'm a New Boy!

I had just came back from Modern Dance Camp 2005 yesterday afternoon. It was a 3 days 2 nights camp. Had been feeling sick the past few days before the camp because I kept keeping myself at home doing nothing but Maple training. It was not good at all! So, the camp somehow helped me to get my ass off my room, get out and work my body out!

The major activities for the camp is basically, choreography(for both Sean and Hakeem), make-up lesson(by our resident Maira), Dance Work practices, Sean's training, and movie viewings. The rest were just some little bonding games, some shower fun and not forgetting the many numbers of meal(apply to me only).

The second day was the most tiring day of the camp. The main thing was dance, dance and dance. Dance Work practices are the most tiring thing I've ever had. It is more tiring then a good PE lesson. We were training non-stop from late afternoon till night time(about 10 p.m.) I could just faint if I was not well supplied with food, which I almost did when having my first holiday practice for that. Hip Hop dances are just so tiring. Fast, forceful, sharp, upbeat, many formations. I was physically and mentally drained.

About the eatings, I had 3 packets of food consisting rice and few different servings of dishes for the first night. Woo hoo! The usual big eater cum rubbish bin I was.

I grouped with Samantha, Selene, and Malina for the choreography of our own dance. There were a total of 3 groups, one doing a fusion consisting of malay dance, hip hop, cheer leading, and few others, the other group doing hindi dance move which turned out to be a laughing stock. (Wahaha!) So, my group decided to stick to out core, which is modern dance. Our dance was titled "Emotions". Its about people showing true self when alone, but tending to hide them away when in crowd. We used chairs in our dance, and I thought it was quite cool for beginners like us. We got the second place, which was rather surprising because we were the last to finish choreographing our item, and the other groups were brushing up on their items. The prizes were all food!!! Ha ha ha.

I bought my mortal(Charlotte) Loackers, and my angel(Maira) gave me a nice pink hair stick, which I don't use. Shall give it to my friend then.

The aftermath of the camp was a production of a better me, physically. Although my body is still aching now(because of too much dance and sleeping problems), I can say I'm fitter and fresher now as the camping days were like body training to me. Toned up my body and stuff.

I wanna thank Mr. Toh, Mrs. Foong and the committees in charge for holding such a wonderful camp, the whole dance team for the never ending laughter, my angel for writing me notes and the rod, mortal for accepting my low down gift, and Mr. Toh again for sacrificing his good night sleep, so that I can have his sleeping bag on the second night. Thank you guys lots.

For now, we will be working for Dance Work till school re-opens, after which, we will still be working. Work work and work. Its gonna be tiring, but fun nevertheless. The school is going to see our hip side next year. We can rock!!! Rarrrhhhhhhhhhhhh! Roaarrrrrrrrrrr!
